Loved seeing the photo of your dad, Mac Mangum in victory lane with the old Chevy at TRICO (today’s Orange County Speedway) and enjoyed watching him in the 70s in that FAST #1 Chevelle at Wilson County Speedway and Wake County Speedway. This a really good vintage racing article. Malcom Mangum would be your brother?
Yes – Malcolm is my brother and he recently became partners in Apex Vintage. The apple does not fall far from the tree!! We rode by OCS yesterday and that started Dad reminiscing about racing there! I have lots of pictures and articles that I will post soon. I still love to read the write ups!
Really looking forward to seeing the photos and writeups of your Dad. He was a great competitor.
