Buddy, was this at Old Dominion?

Dave, This is not Old Dominion. It might be Southside. Thanks, Mike Heath

Mike... thanks. I spent years of Friday nights at Southside, but 95% were in the mid-60s into early 70s. I didn't recognize the building in the background (looks like a mobile home that definitely wasn't at Southside in my days)and I didn't recall the steel boiler plate retaining wall installed by Emanuel Zervakis having a gap at the bottom like the retaining wall in the photo. This might be a photo by our member Woody Delbridge who could answer the question. Thanks, again.

The photo below of Lennie in the Burton & Robinson #44 was shot by Woody Delbridge at Franklin County:

Wow! I was ready to ask one of my dumb questions? Is this an Buick or Olds Race Car?
Found out by blowing the photo up and seeing this. "FARRISH OLDSMOBILE FAIRFAX, VA.".

I thought they raced CHEVY,FORD, and PONTIAC at Southside Speedway.
Didn't know they raced BUICK and OLDS?

Thanks for any information or photos posted.

Yea...Farrish Olds. They're still down the street from my main office. Thanks Dave for the info about Woody Delbridge regarding the Delbridge photo. I tried searching the net for Delbridge when I found the photo, but didn't come up with anything. The other photo was in the family...don't know who took it.

After seeing this photo of Rick Mast in his Chrysler Kit Car at Southside Speedway in 1978 and looking at the boiler plate wall, maybe the #44 Burton & Robinson Lennie Pond Late Model Sportsman photo was taken at Southside Speedway in Richmond.

AIN'T SOUTHSIDE SPEEDWAY RACE TRACK BOILER PLATE THICKER AND LESS BENDABLE AFTER AN RACE CAR CRASH.
PHOTO #1. ARE YOU SURE THIS IS SOUTHSIDE SPEEDWAY TRACK BOILER PLATE?
LOOKS LIKE THIS BOILER PLATE IS THINNER AND MORE BENDABLE THAN THE SOUTHSIDE SPEEDWAY RACE TRACK BOILER PLATE AFTER AN RACE CAR CRASH.
PHOTO #2. ISN'T SAME TRACK AS PHOTO #3.
PHOTO #3. ISN'T SAME TRACK AS PHOTOS #1. AND #2.
PHOTO #4. LEFT #2. COMPARED TO RIGHT #3. BOILER PLATE Thanks for any information or photos posted.

Dennis, the Rick Mast photo #22 is definitely Southside, with the white wooden grandstand railings, etc.and the concession trailer that sat between turn1-2 stands. It's the B & R car shot with Lennie that is the track in question.

Neil Bonnett would start this same Burton & Robinson Olds on the outside pole in the Late Model Sportsman portion of Martinsville's Oct. 1977 Cardinal 500 . A blown engine on lap 89 of 250 relegated Neil to a 30th place finish. Thanks to member TMC-Chase for spotting a Keith Smith/Smyle Media photo at the National Speed Sport News web site:

Actually I did get a couple of photos from him through a 3rd party with the stipulation I wouldn't post on-line. I haven't, and won't,but stillwaiting to hear back from him.

I had no idea Bonnett was in the seat of a B&R car.
