When Neil died we sent a small donation to the National Head Injury Foundation and his wife Susan sent us a very nice handwritten thank you note. He related so well with the fans who, although they had never met him, felt as if he was a favorite friend. I was in Daytona that fateful day and heard the shocking news on the radio while driving past DIS enroute from the Daytona Flea Market. The news certainly cast a shadow on the rest of Speedweeks. Not only that, he actually was able to made buddy baker a quality sportscaster.
