Modified Special division race car

This is P.B. Crowell at Nashville Speedway around 1962-63. These cars were a "special division" that NASCAR sanctioned only for a couple years. They ran primarily at Nashville Fairgrounds & Boyds Speedway (Chattanooga) in TN, Birmingham Fairgrounds, Huntsville Speedway, Dixie Speedway (Midfield) & Montgomery Speedway in AL. Bobby Allison was the national champ both in 1962 & 1963. Some great drivers wheeled these things and they were no prettier race cars ever than these in my opinion, I grew up watching these, since my grandfather owned the 14jr car that raced in this divison. It was these style cars that launched the famous "Alabama Gang".
