What I learned from Wally Bell in Raleigh.

I had a tremendous time in Raleigh at the show. Got to see several long time friends, share stories, and all those wonderful things all this family of Racers Reunion folks do when we get together. With all of that, I also go to meet the most impressive Wally Bell. Wow, what an experience to be in the presence of such drag racing history embodied in someone of gentle speech and caring ways. I learned quite a bit about drag racing from Wally.
I also learned something else from Wally. DO NOT ALLOW JEFF GILDER TO DESCRIBE YOU TO ANYONE. Wally told me that when he asked Jeff about how I could be described, Jeff told him I was about 325 pounds, hunched over with old age, warts on my face, and that I limped really badly as well. Guess it’s all in the eyes of the beholder. Thanks, Wally, for overlooking Jeff’s inaccurate description of me. After all, I do NOT have warts on my face.
Tim
I know where that limp came from!!!! 🙂
Glad to hear y’all finally got to meet face to face. Two of the best buddies anyone could EVER have.
