Charlotte LMS Results, Oct 06,1973

The first World Service Life 300 Late Model Sportsman race was run at Charlotte Motor Speedway on October 6th,1973. Bobby Allison won the pole, and the race driving a 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Allison finished 3 laps ahead of 2nd place, and received $9850 for the victory. Other lap leaders were: Richie Panch, and Sonny Hutchins. Jack Ingram clinched the 1973 LMS Championship with his 11th place finish. Sam Ard who was in a tight battle with Ingram hit the guard rail on the first lap, and was knocked out of the race, and any chance to overtake Ingram for the Championship. Note : revised on 8/22/10
