MAARN:July 10,1987-Pg.7-VALLO FIRECRACKER CHAMPION AT CMS...AGAIN--COLUMBUS, OH.- July 5 - Miamisburg OH driver John Vallo has staked out a claim on the Firecracker Championship race held annually here at Columbus Motor speedway. In a sterling driving effort, Vallo took top spot in the 75 lap feature for a record straight fifth time. He has also won six out of the last seven! This streak takes on even more merit, when you consider Vallo has beaten some of the tri states finest short track drivers yearly to keep the streak alive. Vallo was driving the 1987 Thunderbird owned by former CMS champion Joe King, and sponsored by Stenger's Ford Truck sales, Malcuit Racing Engines, Howe Racing, and W&W Automotive. Terry Humphrey just held off the challenges of Tim Ice to finish second. Robbie Dean finished fourth with Don Whetnall fifth.
