Thirty-eight Super Late Model from five states were present for the competition. With all drivers dreaming capturing the $5000 winners purse, John Vallo was the one to be successful in the feat. This was John's 18th feature win of the 1988 season. On Friday night the top 16 qualifiers were locked into the feature with Jeep Pflum topping the field with 13.856. Times were somewhat slower than expected due to the 100 degree plus heat. Four heats were run with Mark Malcuit, Bill Chambers, Rusty Adams and Tim Ice capturing the wins. Saturday afternoon a standing room only crowd witnessed the evening which was highlighted by the 100 lap feature for Super Late Models. With the large car count it was decided to run two last chance races and allow the top four finishers from each race to enter the feature. The last chance winners were Wayne Watercutter and Bobbie Dean. With an eight car inversion Mike Stacy and Gary Williams led the field to the starters flag. Stacy jumped to the lead held it for 15 laps before he was overtaken by John Vallo who led for the remainder of the race. Bussie Blackford and Stacy battled throughout the race for the second place. When the checkered flag flew, Stacy was able to cross the line first with Blackford third. The top ten cars were Dunlevy, Terry Humphrey, Tim Ice, Jeep Pflum, Robbie Dean, Pat Jones and Bob Sibila.
