The very first time in his career that NASCAR's all-time winningest GN/Cup driver, Richard Petty ever finished second to the all-time 2nd winningest driver, David Pearson in a NASCAR race was in the 1964 Richmond 250 that began 53 years today on Sunday afternoon March 8, 1964 and concluded on Tuesday night March 10, 1964 under the old half-mile dirt track's original PERMANENT lights following a Sunday afternoon rain stop after 100 laps. I was there both days/nights. It was my first ever race.
Found an updated website to the "Wonder what happened to the missing Don Rounds race history photos at the website?"!!
http://www.catamountstadium.com/donrounds.htm
It appears that all the photos and information is there?
http://www.catamountstadium.com/all.links.page.htm
You just have to shake-up the bushes to find it!!

2001 was the beginning & end of Junie Donlavey racing.
#90 driver Hut Stricklin/Junie Donlavey racing/sponsor Hills Brothers Coffee did not qualify in 8 races? How come?

There was serious talking of #90 driver Hut Stricklin/Junie Donlavey racing/sponsor Hills Brothers Coffee moving to Charlotte,N.C. area with other big NASCAR Cup race teams are located.
#90 car owner Junie Donlavey didn't want to moved his #90 race team/race shop from Richmond,Va. He wanted to stayed near his family and friends in Richmond,Va.
Junie said,"NO" to moving his #90 race team/race shop to North Carolina.
#90 driver Hut Stricklin/Junie Donlavey racing/sponsor Hills Brothers Coffee last race together was:
NASCAR Winston Cup race number 31 of 36
Sunday, October 21, 2001 at Talladega Superspeedway, Talladega, AL
188 laps on a 2.660 mile paved track (500.1 miles)
http://www.racing-reference.info/race/2001_EA_Sports_500/W
Note:Junie Donlavey's #91 with driver Rick Mast do not qualify for this race.
http://www.racing-reference.info/rquery?id=91&trk=t0&series=W&cn=1&yr=2001
Junie Donlavey should be in NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Junie Donlavey's old race shop should be made into race museum, have historic bldg status, and an historic road sign listed it's auto racing history.

Can anyone tell me if they have any Key West Stock Island Speedway photos? My father ( John Gendron) used to own this track when we were living in Key West, Fla from 1955 to 1970. I've been trying to find photos from my childhood for years.
Have you seen this?

"In Rememberance Segment" of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards was Disrespectful?
LOCATION: Wynn Las Vegas
Thursday night awards show on NBCSN had the tv host gave an big intro to "Help Remember Those Who Build The Sport (NASCAR). All during the "In Rememberance Segment" the TV show director/producer had the TV cameraman/Camera Operator focus on Steve Moakler singing the song, "Wheels" ? The "Rememberance Person" names was small or didn' t have any head shot photos of half of them? You couldn't make them out because of wideangle shots of the cameraman/Camera Operator? At "The End" of the "In Rememberance Segment", it had the word "GODSPEED" in Big Letters? This happens all the time at all the TV shown awards shows? Must have the same TV show directors/producers?
