From all those who started the fight to all who have carried on the fight to see AMC Racing not go forgotten.

I think back to 1968 when I worked for American Motors (Rambler). I had a 1967 American 2 dr with a 390, 4 speed and 411 positraction. What a sleeper, except for the duals and larger tires it looked like a stock 6 cyl American. Only problem was we didn’t have the tires then to get the power to the asphalt and 1st gear was almost useless. Sure shocked a lot of 396 Chevy’s.

Corky Booze 68 Javelin. Great guy and a friend.

The first heads up Super Stocker which started my association with the AMC product.

Got my automotive start at AMC doing ignition systems of which did some distributor recurves for the racing guys back in 1972. We had a rebel machine test mule as well as an AMC Scrambler I like to have those today. We also had a nice 1971 AMX 401 4spd for a lab car.

Thanks for the input Gerald. Yes any of the “mules” could set in my garage if they want. Looking for a ’68 “fence row” car to use as basis for tribute car to the 68 heads up car. Know of any such animal in Midwest let me know.

This pic is from someone on the H.A.M.B posted I believe it says Hayden Profit driver also notice the red, white and blue javelin in the back ground
