BARRIE POOLE/BORDERBANDIT FANS

Hi all I`m building most of the cars he drove in the 60`s .was his Mustang coupe was it a 68 or a 69?

And does anybody here have detail shoots of it like motor,interior etc.Even if you have detail info on how it look like like.Any help would be great.I already build his Maverick with his trailer so far.

Hey Bob bought the Toys R Us Mustang from Rich.Barrie and Alice stopped into Boothbay Harbor on there way to P.E.I. and Barrie signed it He also gave me a poster.Thanks for the info,Errol.

well heres a little backround for you. last year I raced this altered and beat him. he dialed a 7.00 and ran a 7.002, I put a bad holeshot on him and I went on to win the event. we squared off a few more times since then and ive beat him everytime.

so he challenged me this year abd I said sure, loser is to wear the winners t shirt at the track all weekend.i win but I had a special t shirt made andsigned by barrie poolr just for him lmao

I had talked to a fellow by the name of Keith Post when he worked for Lafarge in Exshaw Alberta. His brother bought it from Elliot and they drove it from the dealership to London, down the 401, open headers and slicks. I thought he told me it had been painted black after it was sold again. I would love to restore it to it’s former glory.

Kudos for the magazine coverage Bob. I bought it yesterday. Funny, they talk about the connection to Barrie & Sandy Elliot with yours and Ivan Landry’s cars, yet the didn’t recognise John Elliot’s ’68 on page 12.

Bob, there are several pics of the coupe with a shaker scoop. It looks like Barrie tried it later on then removed it again. What’s the “scoop” on that? Did it add more power…hense lower ET’s or what?

That’s what I thought. If the shaker would have helped it would have been a permanent fixture on the engine.
