Bobby Allison is another one of the legends I enjoyed watching race. I was very fortunate to have attended the 1988 Daytona 500 race in which he and Davey finished 1-2. I have a picture that was taken of me with Boby Allison years ago.
Bobby Allison was the First Cup Driver to offer he his autograph at Beltsville Speedway in Md when they ran there in the late sixties , Great person & Driver !!!

Hello folks. Bobby Allison was the first driver I ever pulled for thanks to my uncle being a big fan. Got to meet Bobby about 15 years ago and finally got that autograph I’d wanted for so long. He was really top notch !
Bobby was and is a great man and a very humble person. I loved him when he was racing , he was always one of the guys who did it his way, just ask Penske! LOL
Bobby is the man! He was my first (and only) racing hero. Bobby and his entire family are great people. I ended up buying one of Davey’s race cars only after the search for one of Bobby’s old cars turned out to be too tough. 🙂 I had the biggest crush on Bobby’s oldest daughter Bonnie when I was a teenager. Today she is one of my best friends. My “Davey” car was built in Bobby’s former race facility on Church Street in Hueytown. That facility is still in operation and remains pretty much intact. There is a showroom there and it is open for visitors year-round. Check out www.bobbyallison.com and call before you visit. You won’t be disappointed. Bobby signs autographs at the facility a couple times each year. Tell them I sent you…………. 🙂
I got to meet Bobby at the Memory Lane Hall of Fame Induction ceremony in Mooresville on October 10 2009. GREAT ambassador for the sport and for Racers Reunion!!!!
Although one of the greatest of all times, I am happy to join Bobby’s fan club for reasons that go way beyond his legendary driving skills. Having had the honor of meeting him and working with him on a Racers Reunion project, I have come to know the man who’s grace and humility greatly transcend his driving accomplishments!

Hi. I finally got to meet Mr. Allison today at the Legends event. And that is a very fitting title for him. He is a true racer and a very classy guy. Thanks for the autographs, pictures, and conversation. Hope to see you again.
I just finished reading A Peter Golenbock book from a few years back titled “Miracle, Bobby allison and the Saga of the Alabama Gang”. If you want to learn A LOT about Bobby’s life as well as Donnie, Davey, Clifford, Eddie and even Niel Bonnett this is a good read. It reads in short chapters so it is easy to find stopping places but hard to want to stop. Bobby is a wonderful person and certainly so much can be learned from Judy and his struggles and heartbreaks. Life continues and if the world was made of Allisons it would be a much better place. Thanks for all the inspiration Bobby!
I have always been a Bobby Allison fan but one of the greatest events in my life was getting his autograph in the early 70s when he was at southside speedway in Richmond testing a short track car. I was probably around 8 or 9 years old. Great memory!
Don’t forgetBobby’sdaughter Bonnie’s birthday today (12/4). There was a nice celebration for them both in Hueytown on Sunday for their birthdays. Great group of people there. Happy Birthday to both Bobby and Bonnie!!
Bobby came to Tazewell speedway a few weeks after the Daytona fight to sign autographs.I was about 16 at the time and so i jumped in line.I was getting up real close and then i realized i didnt have anything for him to sign and he didnt have any postcards,so what to do? It came my turn so I pulled off my Cale Yarborough hat and hand to him,he paused and looked up and said “you’re a brave man aint you”! i still have it to this day!
