Whoops, still learning. Rick, that Yunick 63 is really beautiful too. I think I sent this out in a message to all but wanted to have it on the wall here for everybody to see, so here’s a few photos of my SNRA Belvedere for this year. Hope you like it. I hand letter almost all my cars but I’m not nearly as good as I used to be. Probably time for new brushes.Dave Bayerhttp://i411.photobucket.com/albums/pp195/dabayerada/New%20SNRA%20Roadrunner%202010/SNRAMrBelvedereilfini004.jpghttp://i411.photobucket.com/albums/pp195/dabayerada/New%20SNRA%20Roadrunner%202010/SNRAMrBelvedereilfini003.jpghttp://i411.photobucket.com/albums/pp195/dabayerada/New%20SNRA%20Roadrunner%202010/NormNelson010.jpghttp://i411.photobucket.com/albums/pp195/dabayerada/New%20SNRA%20Roadrunner%202010/SNRAMrBelvedereilfini007.jpg I’ll try to post some more up with My Pictures on my home page.

Joe Merola’s NASCAR Tucker in 1/18th scale

Al Keller’s winning Jaguar in 1/24th diecast

GREAT job on the Tucker, Bill! What led you to believe it was gold? As far as I knew, the color was not known, I’m hoping you have some insight! It’s too bad that the real car is one of only a few Tuckers guarenteed not to have survived. (It was lost in a fire, not only burned but the building collapsed on it)
Bill, very nice work on some of the least known cars in NASCAR history.#12 Tucker; driven by Joe Merola in race #5 of 1950 Grand National season, at 1/2-mile Canfield Speedway, Canfield, OH on May 30 1950. Entry had zero laps completed listed as 29th of 29 cars. Merola broke a right rear axle, and the car never completed a full lap. This Tucker, one of 50 built, is believed to have been later lost in a warehouse fire in Florida years later. Its one of the few Tuckers that have not survived.

Bill great looking cars
I never posted my 80s builds on here, I don’t think…I’ve got quite a few of them, with a bunch more in progress in various stages.I’ll post a few of them…Here is my first three Kodak cars. Eventually I want to do all the different variations on them, these three are done and Sterling’s 1994 Lumina is in progress.1987 Rick Wilson, 1990 Ernie Irvan, 1998 Bobby Hamilton

As a long time Morgan-McClure supporter, I also built the 1986 #4 Cap’t Coty’s Olds that Rick Wilson drove. There were a lot of variations, so I built it to represent the Darlington car.

(By the way, on the black #4, I scratchbuilt the headlight covers!)Here is probably my best 80s build, Dale Earnhardt’s 1987 car. I actually built this back in 2005 but didn’t take good pictures of it until earlier this year, though I did bust both windows out of it in the process! (since been fixed)

Curtis Turner 1963 Ford, a model of the car driven in USAC competition during the time He was baned from NASCAR

Buddy Baker’s, Ray Fox Dodge Charger, built from a 1/24th scale diecast stock model.

Marvin Panch/Smokey Yunick 1960 Pontiac model of the winniing 1961 Daytona 500 car. Scratch built from a trumpetier kit.

Curtis Turner/Wood Bros. 1965 Ford model of the “comeback win” car at Rockingham. This was scratch built from a stock AMT/ERTL kit.

Here is a couple of my builds. 72 Dick Freeman, 0 John Anderson, 97 just a fantasy build

Gary it looks like you had a pileup down there! lolGlad to see I’m not the only one who’s had to resort to stacking models! I always put paper towel between them though, after having the paint on the bottom of one rub off on the top of another.
OK Here is a twofer. Bob Korns Falcon and Frank Jones Mustang. Both owners lived within a few blocks of each other in Miamisburg.

A 1/24th diecast custom build of Tiger Tom Pistone’s 1971 Ford Torino. This was a stratch build from a Johnny Lightning model

Here are two cars of the great Herb Thomas, both in 1/18th diecast and custom built. His last car, a 1962 Chevy, and the other is one of his earlier rides from the 1950’s…the number M-4 modified.

I don’t know how many of you are close to this area but I’d like to invite you all to visit my model club’s show this coming weekend. We usually have a very low stock car turnout- in fact, it’s usually just me. I plan to have my 1963 Fireball Roberts car there as well as several others of newer cars. I will be doing the photography for our club website as well. I had so much fun in 2008 at this show it convinced me to join the club a few months later.

If any of you do get here, make sure to find me and say hello! I should be pretty easy to spot, just look at my profile picture 🙂

This is a 1/24th scale diecast of Fonty Flock’s 1955 Chevy. When Fonty drove this car to victory, it was the first win for the new Chevy V-8.

I love your 50s cars Bill!

Here is some more of my builds.

A hauler ,a wrecker and a chassis i built. Enjoy!!
I’m as old school as the next guy (look at my profile page if you don’t believe me), but I am also a hardcore NASCAR diecast collector so that being said,
please don’t think of this as spam, but I didn’t know where else to post this. I have been working with Checkered Flag Sports to see get this diecast model made… If you are a true DODGE Boy, Penske and Nationwide Challenger fan like I am, some of you might want to look into this:

http://www.thesundayhauler.com/store…arts_2011.html
http://www.atthetrackracing.com/detail.aspx?ID=20296

I have posted on every imaginable website to draw interest to this diecast car as without it meeting MOQ (Minimum Order Quotient) it will be canned. With Kurt winning the Bud Shootout yesterday, hopefully some interest will be drawn to Team Penske this season and us NASCAR DODGE collectors will have something to cheer about and collect this year. With only the couple Penske Cup and Nationwide teams along with the newly formed Robby Gordon team, diecasts will be pretty slim pickin’s. So everything helps.

This is my scale version of Dale Jr’s. Nutter Butter Bush car.

I was told that it was the first time he used his Fathers’ number, but I am not sure of that . Maybe you gentlemen can confirm that for me.

Thanks for checking it out,

Tim

Just wish I had the talent and patience ya’ll have. I just like to look at them!

Great new additions Bill. I plan to try and hand letter one of the Sara Christian cars in 1/64 scale, because nobody wants to make me any decals. I’ve never seen Darel Dieringer’s car before, and I love three digit cars.

The trailer the 2x coupe is on, is in better shape than mine . . .

This is a model you won’t see every day. Curtis Turner and Bill France’s Nash Ambassador. Would you believe this started out ad a Nash sedan delivery? 22 donor car pieces later and a bit of bondo and presto changeo.

For all you fans of the “Rumblin Ragtops” Here is the King’s 1962 Plymouth. custom built from a stock Jo-han kit with a bunch of detail add-ons

Another of Smokey Yunick’s black and gold speedsters, this a 1969 Mustang, that was driven by Bunkie Blackburn at Talladega in a Grand American event.Bunkie had almost a two lap lead when in came unglued near the end of the race.

The great Mark Donohue’s AMC Matador built by Roger Penske in 1/25th scale. A Bobby Allison kit was used as the donor car with many add ons to make a very detailed model

In 1959, a fleet of Thunderbirds ( 6 ) was built for the Daytoan 500 by Holman-Moody. This is the test car model built from a stock Monogram kit

Dale Earnhardt Sr. never forgot his racing roots and often raced in short track events and other racing venues like the ASA. This is a 1/25th scale model of his 1988 Camaro using a IROC car as the donor for the build.

Joe Merola is not a big NASCAR name, but the car he drove in the early days of stock car racing did leave its mark. Here’s a 1/25th scale die-cast of the 1948 Tucker

Was this stock cars first Superbird? Marvin Panch drove this 1957 Plymouth/Thunderbird Modified at Daytona and Atlanta. This is a 1/25th scale reproduction of that car and it was not fun to build either, but it did turn out very nice.

One of my favorite cars and a favorite driver/car owner…..NASCAR Hall of Famer Glen Wood, and his 1957 Ford Convertible in 1/18 scale die-cast

Bill, the “ThunderFury” looks to be an early 60’s creation. At least that’s what the donor cars look like. As unusual as that car is, you would have thought it would have made a bigger mark in racing history. But then again, back then a “modified” was just that. Ranging from “stupidly simple” to “simply stupid”, and everything in between. That car fit in the middle by being a example of well thought out theory. May not have been worth the effort. But, I think it was a great attempt at visualizing the “next step”.

This a replica of Joey Atkinsons coupe, he built our local dirt track which ive been going to since i was 4 years old, i built this in his honor! The front and rear bumpers, nerf bars and exhaust tube are made out of brass and soldered together and the headers are made out of solder.

I built this car as a tribute to the days of racing from years ago. Back then the drivers were a lot like the old west gunfighters. They had a reputation that preceded them and they were prone to travel when the money was up for grabs. Many a night back then, on a big race night, there would be a strange car rolling through the gate. Many times the car number would give the driver’s name away and everyone would know there was going to be some action later on. Just like the notches on the gunfighter’s six gun, the Wynns stickers on the roof let you know this was someone you didn’t take lightly. The car itself also told the story, no pretenders here. Although the sheet metal was rough and worn late into the season, the mechanical side was fresh and first class. I built this car as a sorta mix between the new and the old, but I hope everyone can get the idea I was feeling.

Hello Fan Model Cars, here is my model Camaro 1970 Smokey Yunick, I am pleased to share with you

Diecast Discussion Too, the remnants of the Diecast Digest and Diecast Warriors forum has finally got a photo gallery to display our collections. We are a small operation but I have been involved with this collector’s group in some way or another since the mid-1990’s with it’s various iterations. 😉

Anyway if you are interested, come by and take a look: http://www.mrdiecast.net/cpg15x/index.php Take care.

One of my favorite race cars of all time was the 1957 Mercury that was driven by Tim Flock in 1957 and 1958. Tim won the big convertible race at Daytona in 1957 and finished 2nd at the 1st annual Rebel 300 at Darlington with the car. Awesome Bill!

WOW! Great stuff, man you are gifted!

I don’t have to tell you how hard it is to find one of these….a 1961 Ford Starliner. This one was just completed to copy the 1961 Starliner Ford recently completed by the Wood Bros.

Newest build…..Jack Ingram’s Chevy Nova. This car was built using a Maisto drag car die-cast in 1/25th scale.

Grat looking die-cast conversion

Great job on all, but I really love the Starliner. Somewhere in the late 70’s, a past customer of mine stuffed a 427 SOHC racing motor in a restored street version. Talk about FAST! He used to be one of the guys Ford Performance would refer people to before Ford really set up an in house “info to the public”. He, and his cars, were part of the Ford, Total Performance displays you’d see at shows, and such. He had the nickname Dr. John, so I “gave ” him the degree of PHorD. Get it PHD. PHorD, would be pronounced as “Ford”.

John and the Starliner are still doing the circuit ,he was at the Meltdown Drags in IL. Last summer and I always see John at the Columbus all Ford shows.

Really!?! Actually I still see him about three Sundays a month at a Coney Island restaurant at breakfast time. I never thought to ask if he still had that car.

This is a Ferrari 512S 1/18th scale die-cast from Hot Wheels that was converted to a Mark Donohue car.

Another Jack Ingram car built from a Welly 1/24th scale die-cast. This model is Jack’s 1968 Chevelle.

Billy Myers 1955 T-Bird that was raced at Bowman-Grey Stadium in the International Sedan Series in 1/24th scale die-cast.

Nice #82 Mustang and truck. Who was the driver?

This is a “what if”. Local car owner Bob Morgan in the early 70s switched from his customary Fords to a Camaro with Lenny Waldo driving. This is just my take if he had built a Mustang instead of going to the Camaro.

The pole winning car for the last Sportsman-Modified event held on the Beach at Daytona in 1958 driven by Glen Wood in 1/24th scale. A 1954 Ford
