Photo Categorys

Could the photos be put in categorys?

Here is another challenge. Over time, I’ve found many pictures I’ve liked. Because tags and descriptions aren’t used effectively, I’ve marked them as ‘favorites’. However, I recently noticed favorites are capped at 100 photos. After that, the newest one is retained and and an older one is un-favorited (de-fave’d?, anti-fave’d?). That really stinks too because its unlikely I’ll find them again crawling through 50,000 photos. I don’t know if there is a way that viewers can use their own tags as a photo is viewed in addition to any tags provided by the uploader.

When I’m viewing pictures for approvalI willapprove photos that meet the criteria without captions. However, again, I’m asking that when you post a photo please take the extra 5 seconds or so to title your photo. If you do not know who the driver is put in the caption “unknown driver-please help” or something else to that effect. 9 times out if 10 you will get an and, in most cases I move that to our vintage section in hopes that will happen for you. Also dumping 100 or so photos at once with no captions-we will aprove the photo if it meets the criteria but it will not make the featured photos due to the time it takes to look at each photo graph. Also, I get complaints when photos are lifted off other member’s pages and reposted by someone else. Which I have to removeif the request I send to the poster is not replied to.I’ve had it happen to me so if your photo disappeared….well you get the picture. Code numbers, , tape marks, tears, the little water mark in lower left corner, ect. are like finger prints. At one time way back in our infancy, we had about 10k photos. At Jeff’s request I removed the ones that did not belong here. I spent 10 hours one Sunday deleting photos and screaming obscenities. We also have a group called Member’s Racers where you can post pics of your current and past racers from Karts on up. And please take heed to the criteria-1990 AND EARLIER.

If a photo comes in with out a caption make a category for those photos, Thanks

Stacy,

Unfortunately we do not have the ability to add photo categories with this web platform. It IS a feature we are very much interested in developing, but do not have the ability to do so at this time. That is why we ask photo contributers to properly tag their photos. All our moderation of photos is done by volunteers…primarily Robbie Solesbee who does an awesome job for us.

Thaks for your suggestions.
