OK folks....this is the weekend.Come on out to the East Coast's most historic and longest continually operating dragstrip.
This one is as nostalgiac as they get!...at the concession stand Gary Gore is still serving the original Hot-dogs Mr.Al first bought in 1953! Not the same brand...actually the same dogs!...they were terrible and the track is still trying to get rid of the initial order!!!!!
The track is truly one of a dying breed among race tracks...you will walk back in time at the home track of racers such as KS Pittman,Fred Bear,Gene Altizer,Carlton Phillips,Lee Edwards,Jim& Alison Lee, Bunny Burkett and countless others.
Not to mention my first class win and trophy in 1970(got the pic to prove it!)haha!
This is the place where drag racing meets country fair meets Green Acres(remember that TV show?)
Where funnel cake meets Miller Lite:)
Just in:... JA will be offering free hugs to all the gals and your chance to be officially JA'ed at this event!
Also...have your photo taken with Official Manassas Va .Ernest Hemmingway contest 33rd place finisher Gary Gore and take in the car show on the high banks at the legendary Old Dominion Speedway oval.
Hope to see you there.
