Pollard has scored wins at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Georgia, Mobile International Speedway in Irvington, Alabama, 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida and South Alabama Speedway in Opp, Alabama.
Driving for Georgia Racing Hall of Famer Ronnie Sanders, Pollard has pushed his career Late Model win total to 53 this season, including wins in the Lee Fields Memorial at Mobile, the PASS Racing Radios 100 at Gresham and the CRA Easy Riders 100, also at Gresham.
That’s not counting the numerous Open Wheel Modified wins Pollard has scored this year at Mobile and Pensacola.
And Pollard still has time to add to those numbers, as he is slated to race in several more events before the season is out, including the famed World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park and the legendary Snowball Derby at 5 Flags Speedway.
The Driver of the Year is chosen by the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame’s board of directors in an effort to salute Georgia racers they feel exemplify excellence in motorsports.
“Bubba Pollard has put on a true Hall of Fame performance this year,” said GRHOF Board of Directors chairman Gordon Pirkle. “He has had a season that would be considered a successful career for some drivers. We’re very proud to be able to honor him in this way.”
Pollard will be honored as the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame Driver of the Year at the 2011 Georgia Racing Hall of Fame induction banquet, the same night that George Elliott, Mike Head, Harold Kite, Swayne Pritchett and Ken Ragan will be inducted as members of the 2011 class of inductees.
The 2011 Georgia Racing Hall of Fame Induction banquet will be held on Oct. 21, 2011 at 6 pm at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, located inside the Dawsonville Municipal Complex in Dawsonville, Georgia.
