Perhaps this should be written as two separate stories/articles because it deals with two distinct subjects, or, could be, the subjects are one and the same. It will be up to the reader to decide which applies. Today the subject is the race fan, more specifically the stock car race fan, and the race driver, more specifically, the stock car race driver. I have been both. I remain a stock car racing fan and am sure I will remain so until the day I die. However, ESPN, I don’t want your funeral home designing my coffin as your current commercials so boldly indicate will be your next sideline venture!
