It is with a sad and heavy heart that I must post the news of the passing of our former employee and good friend ,John Ervin of Newton, NC. Johns hard and long fought battle with liver disease finally ended this morning. John was well known in our hometown area and had many many friends in NASCAR as well. John started his career working as a mechanic with my dad, Ned ... he went on to serve as his chief mechanic before retiring from NASCAR the first time. Then when Dale started his career John came out of racing retirement to serve as his crew chief as well. When Dale moved on to the Cup series, John worked as crew chief on our cars in the Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure. I send my condolences and prayers to his family and friends...we will all miss him ! Godspeed my friend !
