The Unidella Ga Flash
Great job David and David and Front Row Motorsports
I'm so excited! He came out of no where. On the last lap, I was pulling for either Carl or the old 43, but all of a sudden, here comes the 'Front Row' and David and David won. Well worth the 4 hour wait!!!!
Oh and BTW, Captain Herb from WSB calls him the "Unadila Gorilla" lol
And well he should. Neat finish.
A Regan Ragan Dega Double this weekend. Incredible. Now if we could only get a Reagan-like guy back in Washing... whoops, flirting with ROE.
I know David Ragan has one previous win. But this one with an independent team still has to be considered an upset. His win has to be put in the same conversation as Bobby Hillin Jr., Ron Bouchard, Dick Brooks, James Hylton, Lennie Pond, and Phil Parsons. Right?
Keselowski was grousing afterwards about Ragan lining up in the wrong line for the last restart. Ryan Newman was bent - literally and emotionally - about plate track racing and the NASCAR brass. Danica is likely giving Ricky the cold shoulder tonight for helping initiate a race altering wreck. Fans were upset with FOX's commercials and the annoyance of the talking heads. NASCAR officials and fans at the track had to deal with tons of rain. Just another normal weekend of frustrations at a Talladega. Nothing new, right? Ha.
Matter of fact, even King Richard was bent at the rules makers way back in 1974. Tim Leeming featured the 1974 Talladega 500 in his May 5 Racing Minute. Richard Petty eked out a third place finish in that race - nothing to sneeze at for most folks. But the King wasn't happy because of a poor qualifying run. He ended up having to draft his way all day to salvage the third. He had these remarks after his qualifying run.

Thought of our old friend Kenny Ragan , as David took the checker.... Ken and Adam no doubt were Proud as hell !!
Those conditions reminded me of the 1982 Gabriel 400 at Michigan. It was halted several times for rain for several hours. They said the television viewers could see the finish of Cale beating DW as captured by the CBS cameras, but darned if we could see the first turn from pit road. It was DARK!
You're giving the "research staff" too much time off!
Ta da! Southern 500...
