From what I have been told recently, there is a tie for this record....I need to check it out....but I'll give you the answer, Hack. It was the combo if John A. Utsman driving for Benny Parsons. John A, driving in relief for Benny gained a 9 lap lead , then got out of the car and let Benny take the win. Benny finished 7 laps ahead of the field. From what I've been told, Cale also had a 7 lap margin of vicory at Bristol.

it was Cale Yarbourough because when you lead all the laps, you have to lap someone

Cale did win by 7 laps in April '77
