Hi all! Came across this site a few days ago & am excited to see so many folks that share a passion for vintage racing!

I'm looking for information/photos of early Plymouth 'Strictly Stock' (Grand National) cars.

Specifically looking for info on;

-The Hubert Westmoreland 98jr 1950 Plymouth - Driven by Johnny Mantz, Leon Sales, Bill Holland

-The Bub King #55 1950 or 1951 Plymouth - Driven by 'Bub' King in 1951

-The #15 1950 Plymouth owned by Chet Chiroso (driven by Marvin Panch at Corbin, Cliff Roberts at Oakland, and Sam Hawks at San Mateo during the '54 season)

-The Ted Chamberlain 1950 Plymouth (numerous #'s), raced 1950-1954 seasons

-Cotton Owens/F.J. Bland #71 1950 Plymouth-raced during 1950 & 1951 seasons

-Jimmy Ayers #83 or #3 1950 Plymouth-raced during 1950 & 1951 seasons

Any/all other 1950/1951 Plymouth stock car information & pictures are greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Gary

Hi Laverne! I'm actually building a 1950 Plymouth fastback to conform to the 1950/1951 NASCAR rule book, so any photos would be a huge help (I have some a copy of the 50, 51, and 52 NASCAR yearbooks but the photos of said cars are quite small).From what I've read, these little flathead Plymouths did fairly well in the early days, finishing no worse than 3rd in the 'manufacturer's championship' from 49-52. Any first hand accounts of how these cars were setup, dispositions of the vehicles, driver stories, etc. would be welcome!Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my post, you can contact me via-email at grywht@yahoo.com if you'd like.Gary
