We lost one of the nicest guys in racing and best jack man ever last week with the passing of David Smith. David went to work at RCR in 1982 and jacked Dale Earnhardt's car for 60 of his Cup wins. He was a member of both the famed "Junkyard Dogs" and "Flying Aces" pit crews for Earnhardt. He also served as Dale's crew chief in 1996 and as Team Manager for the multi-car Childress operation. David's funeral is Thursday, July 6. His obituary is at the link below.
