Teresa Earnhardt's Father / Tommy Houston's Brother Passed

Hal Houston passed away Saturday, February 26 in Mooresville, NC. Hal was the father of the late Dale Earnhardt's widow, Teresa Houston Earnhardt and brother of long time NASCAR Late Model competitor, Tommy Houston. He was a familiar sight for many years in the #3 Earnhardt pit.

Very sorry to learn of Hal's death. He had a vacation home at Holden Beach, NC and would often drop by my auto parts store in Shallotte, when he was at the beach. Just a down-to-earth guy that drove about a 1992 S-10. Other than the "#3" cap he usually wore and the "Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet" tag on the S-10, there was no evidence of any celebrity connections. A real old-school racing family. In addition to Teresa, Hal's other daughter was the promoter of Hickory Speedway for several years. Thought's and prayers to Hal's family.

My sincere condolences to the Houston family. I didn't know Hal but I was a Tommy Houston fan. God's blessings on each and every one of you.

Our sincere condolenses go out to Betty,Sherry,Teresa,Tommy,Slick and Ken in this time of loss.Hal was a great guy and will be missed by anyone whom had ever met him.God speed Hal from all the members of the Old Timers Racing Club...

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the whole Houston Family. I watched both Ken and Tommy race at Hickory Speedway.
