Ok now you have had your little outing at RIR ---now come the fast dance with the ole gal in Darlington. Think you can dance to her music? A lot have tried and a few won her heart but these days she only gets one chance a year to Shag with you and its at night too.

So who will she take a liking to,will it be a past performer? or may that new kid on the block will catch her eye-- will performance or fuel milage prevail again. The past has been on the high side -------------------------unless you go wayyyy back to when that little Plymouth 6 cylinder puttered around on the bottom saving tires and gas to win!! Remember that one???

I dont thing Montoya or Ryan will get to close because there electricity is still hot and may spark again so them up front is iffy at best.

But I know someone out there has their Crystal Ball all shiny and can predict the outcome --right

Definitely unpredictable. How about 1979 Southern 500? Jaws has big lead and hits wall. David Pearson, who parted ways with Wood Bros. at spring Darlington race, subs for injured Dale Earnhardt and wins in Osterlund car. Waltrip's crash ends up costing him the points championship to the King. This was one of the years when engine changes were legal. Junior's crew changed one for Cale in 19 minutes as he attempted his 5th Southern 500 win. I was sitting in one of the old backstretch boxes that day. When Waltrip hit the wall and Pearson took the lead, you could have heard the crowd roar all the way to Florence!!

I can make a guess. I'm afraid it will be the #18 or #20. Both run great at Darlington and this just looks like their year. Hamlin may be a little behind but far from out of it. This looks like a repeat of last week to me. Think I'll go to be early if my guess turns out to be correct. Y'all look for my son on TV, he'll be there.
