GOOD MORNING JEFF, I WAS JUST WONDERING IF YOU ARE WORKING ON ANY MORE VINTAGE CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS SIMILAR TO THE ONE HELD AT SHELBY EARLYIER IN THE YEAR. I DO WANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO SO I BELIEVE WEATHER (THE THREAT OF RAIN ) HAMPERD THE EVENT THAT DAY.IM CURRENTLU RUNNING WITH 2 CLUBS AND BOTH ARE HAVEING GOOD YEARS GREAT RACES AND DECENT CAR COUNTS ON DIRT AND ASPHALT. SOUTHEASTERN VINTAGE WILL BE IN ACTION THIS FRI NITE AT CAROLINA SPEEDWAY IN GASTONIA N C .DYNO DON Car 72.

Don, We actually have been discussing doing at least one more event this year possible two. We have an interested venue in Carolina Speedway in Lakeview, SC and preliminary thoughts are to have a Fall race there.

Do you think your club(s) would be able to support an event at that location? Something we want to be able to accomplish is to pay some tow money....but would need to acquire sufficient sponsorship to make that possible.

Also....though it is not a VCS race there is a Vintage Exhibition event at Myrtle Beach Speedway on July 28. Details are on our events calendar.

I really appreciate you support of our series concept, Don. We do intend to carry this on and grow the series. I think it fits really well with the vintage clubs style of racing and fills a need for the fans to see a full schedule of vintage racing.

Hi I just join the group, I am very excited about wonderful posts here, I am wife of Richard Dick Foley, first and only Canadian to run in big american race in 1959, I knew the story per sei about Marshall getting killed in accident prior to finish my husband car for the big race, but it is the first time I found a newspaper clippings to prove it, great job, thank you for keeping this site!

Mrs. Foley, allow me to say that your husband is a great guy. I met him in February at the Living Legends of Auto Racing auction and he was the highlight of the evening!
