Danica Patrick and Johanna Long both start in top-15 in today's Nationwide event at Vegas.

Danica is 12th.

Johanna is 15th.

Jennifer Jo Cobb will start 37th.

If you don't like these starting positions, they're still the same in Pkl's post below, lol!

Wow.

They didn't waste anytime posting this news in Pensacola.

Glad to see Johanna get the good press. Hope she has some good Mo-Jo today!

Pensacola native Johanna Long has qualified 15th on the starting grid for the running of todays NASCAR Nationwide Series Sams Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The effort is the best qualifying run for Long in her two Nationwide attempts. In Daytona on Feb. 25, Long qualified 21st and finished in that exact same position in her series debut.

The top qualifiers for the race are: 1. Elliott Sadler, 2. Kasey Kahne, 3. Austin Dillon, 4. Brian Scott, 5. Brad Keslowski.

Sadler won last weeks Nationwide race in Phoenix, while Kahne set the LMS track record on Friday in qualifying for Sundays Sprint Cup race.

Long was second among rookies, trailing just Dillon, the grandson of legendary owner Richard Childress.

As for another driver of note, Danica Patrick qualified three spots ahead of Long at No. 12. They are the top females competing on the Nationwide Series in 2012.

Well now at least they can say the proper "Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines!" instead of "Lady and Gentlemen..." which I always thought to sound a little silly.
