A photographer for the Indianapolis Star caught former child star, Ron Howard chatting with Richard Petty in the garage this afternoon at Indianapolis.
Perhaps the former Opie was asking directions from Mayberry to Level Cross and Randleman.
Oscar winner Ron Howard is Hanging Out with Jeff Gordon Today

Academy Award winner Ron Howard who rose to fame as a child actor on The Andy Griffith Show has been seeing the sights at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend.
After touring for two days, Howard will be put to work here tomorrow, when he will serve as the celebrity pace car driver for the Brickyard 400. As such, hell pilot a Chevrolet Corvette pace car before the start of the NASCAR race.
Today, though, Howard is hanging out with popular driver Jeff Gordon.
Jeff talks a lot about his team and their hustle and commitment is very cool to witness, Howard Tweeted.
And, he met former NASCAR driver Richard The King Petty, too, Tweeting his admiration for the seven-time winner of the NASCAR Championship.

Howard, who won two Oscars for his 2001 movie, A Beautiful Mind, has a film biography of Formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda and the 1976 crash that almost claimed his life coming out next year.
