Didn't see it mentioned in the release, but Davenport is entered in a truck owned by MAKE Motorsports of Shelby, NC, which has had a somewhat spotty record in Nationwide and Trucks. Natalie Sather was scheduled to drive for them last year at the Martinsville and Rockingham truck races

From the owners' website:

About MAKE

Founded in 2010 by Mark Beaver & Tracy Lowe, diverse motorsports owners with 50 years combined in racing - MAKE Motorsports makes its natural progression into the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and then into the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Mark Beaver has owned NHRA, IHRA, Super Late Model Dirt Series, Legends, SCCA Trans Am & SCCA World Challenge teams.

One of the only female team owners in racing, Tracy Lowe has owned or competed in Dirt Late Models & SCCA.

At the very least, this story has a definite 'old school' feel.....a dirt tracker getting a chance

Got up to Madison a couple of times back in the early 80s when I lived in Greensboro. Its very high banks (at least they were then) were so different than what I'd been used to at Wilson, which drove more like asphalt. At Madison they threw the cars sideways BEFORE they ever got to the turns. It was a toatally different style of racing than eastern North Carolina dirt racing.
