Friday night's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Chicagoland Speedway was just what the doctor ordered after a bizarre week in NASCAR land.
A race filled with side-by-side battles and epic restarts ended with Kyle Busch beating out fellow NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regular Brad Keselowski to win the 150-lap feature.
After swapping the lead back and forth for a large portion of the race, Busch managed to secure the lead on Lap 127 and keep Keselowski at bay to win his 34th career Trucks victory.
"Finally got by him and he was still with me, and I started stretching him and thought I could breathe again," Busch said. "Then two laps later, he was on my butt again."
Despite a valiant effort, Keselowski was forced to settle for his second runner-up finish of the season and fifth of his career.Keselowski is still searching for his first career Truck Series victory.
"Running this race, side-by-side, every restart, some pack racing, that's just something that I think is exceptional to watch," Keselowski said. "But from my place is exceptional to do. A little disappointed we didn't get the win, but I know we were close. I know how far our team and company has come."
Twitter was abuzz with fans and other drivers that agreed with Keselowski.
Racing fixes everything!!!! If you're not watching the truck race, get to it. Pretty damn good racing here in closing laps.
