Glad I didn't tend this year's............Firecracker/Coke Zerowhatever400 at Daytona. Was it a Goat Rodeo, or what? This is the highest level of our sport? Seems, after the carnage had played, AND played, NASCAR figured the best possible face, other than the fact that Danica safely negotiated big ones #1 and #2, would be for the 43 to win.......you know, the 30th anniversary of the King's 200th win, and blah, blah, blah. Granted, no one can control the weather, but plate racingcanbe controlled, or better, eliminated. It's just stupid.

An in-race fix for the 43?? C'mon Bobby.

I did not say it was an in-race fix..........when this disaster had played off and on for the entire weekend, NASACAR realized the best scenario would be to stop with the 43 in lead. I've been a Petty fan all my life....

Ok Bobby lives on the coast like some others so he maybe saw the red sky's in the morning and said they better take it as a warning sooooo did someone have an old sailors almanac that told of the window of usability because that whole area was under the red of local radar.

Or maybe, just maybe someone saw the glimmer of faith in the Petty organization and said Why not ..

True the little thin piece of metal with 4 holes in it seems to control a lot and sure carries a following of "unwant" but without it would air traffic control step in for flight plans before each race???

I don't have a problem with weather, nobody can control that, and that's always the big uncertainty of outdoor, promotional efforts. Plate racing is insane and NASCAR has options. Isn't one definition of stupidity..."doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.........."? .........As long as plates are used, any and all changes to the cars, makes no NET difference......... because the cars remain exactly the same......... they still wind up in a 40 car wad.

I also watched F-1 at Silverstone, IndyCar at Pocono and ARCA at Winchester. Best race of the weekend hands down was ARCA at Winchester with ole Ken Schrader leading so much and the last lap lean on the leader, 8 wheels are better than 4 pass by the 17 year old Georgia boy for the win in his first ARCA start. Now, that was some real racing!
