I know Ms. Pkl recently found two old songs about Fireball Roberts and Joe Weatherly....I was searching craigslist this afternoon and came across another old 45. This song was written in 1979 after taxes were to be raised on Daytona and Nascar would possibly go somewhere else.

I've never even heard of this song....have you?

Speaking of songs about Fireball, here is one John Hiatt released a few years ago. Hiatt is a helluva songwriter for those unfamiliar with him. He's had some great hits such as Perfectly Good Guitar, Crazy Little Thing Called Love (recorded by Bonnie Raitt), Have A LIttle Faith In Me, Tennessee Plates, Drive South, Slow Turning, etc.

This one isn't EXACTLY about Fireball. Just that he's a bit of an influence for it and gets a mention.
