Texas Top Fuel Legend Vance Hunt on Racin' & Rockin'!

On Monday, January 31, 2011, legendary 1950s and 60s Texas Top Fuel racer Vance Hunt joins us! Vance was one of the top racers in the country from 1958 to 1971, racing and trading wins with fellow legends like Don Garlits and Chris Karamesines. Vance also burned up the funny car class with a series of Hunt & Taylor Mustangs. Join us as we swap tales with one of the true icons of the sport.

In honor of Vance's early years, John Bockelman will pick some great 1958 songs to discuss and play on Hit Records with John Bockelman, and of course, Jeff and Dustin will play 'em all in their entirety on the Racin' & Rockin' After Party! And Danny White will do some research and come up with another great Drag Racing List of the Week.

Lord Drag racing sure has a lot of Legends and I want to say thanks to Bill Pratt and Wally Bell for putting a ton of stuff in the archives for us old timers to listen to when we hang it up !

Went to Kennedale Raceway Sunday and Lord it was a beautiful day ! I was amazed at the number of guys and girls who turned out to do a little testing !

I know D/FW is insane car crazy but you woud never know we were in hard times.

Even one guy doing LIC Runs in a big tire Camareo ! I'm reading Grady Bryants Roswel One and hate to put it down . Good Stuff !
