This reminds me...I heard just the other day that when he was driving for Joe Gibbs, he wouldn't let Tony drive in other series like dirt, etc in fear that he might get injured and not be able to run the 20 car in the cup series. So Tony would use an old trick and just use a fake name. Which could include 'Smokey Jones', 'Smoke Johnson' and one was a real sounding name, it was something like 'Micheal Fernando Jr.' or something like that, and I've heard that he still uses those names just for kicks sometimes.

Yeah I remember when Tony Stewart was slated to run the 2002 Race of Champions Modified race at Oswego. But due to the fact he was also racing the next day at Dover and in a champions points battle Gibbs told him not to race. He made an appearance and signed autographs though. I got a signed 1/64 NASCAR Modified die cast that they only made so many of. Ken Schrader flew in and drove the car with Stewart being his spotter.

That was a GREAT movie, Jim! Motorcycles. Never hear anybody discuss it. Certainly better than any stock car movie I ever saw.
