Saw Some Outstanding Racing Growing Up,At The Shelby Fairground,Rutherford Co Speedway,And Harris Speedway. It Was Run By Clyde Dedmon,And Was Called The Hobby Racing Association.Some Of The Finest Drivers In The South Ran These Tracks,Some Include Preston Humphries Daniel Warlick Stick Elliott Charlie Blanton Tommy Eskew Just To Name A Few,I Am Collecting Old Photos And 8 MM Films, Anyone With Info On These Items Please Reply Here In The Forum. I Am Trying To Preserve Our Old Racing And Never Let It Be Forgotten. CW

Sorry to say , I don't have pics or films of those good 'ol races . I spent many Friday and Sat. nights at those tracks , and Sundays at Harris . I was there when NASCAR ran , and still remember seeing Petty and the others run there . It would be great to see some movies of them .... Ed

Someone has posted pictures for Harris...possible Rutherford as well. I remember seeing them. Possibly Randy Gilbert. If you search the photo galleries, you might turn up some photos.

HRA also sanctioned Lancaster and Starlite Speedway. I worked with John Reynolds at both tracks back then. Even still got a couple of the rule books.
