CRAIG GOESS EMBARKING ON FULL-TIME PASS SOUTH SUPER LATE MODEL RIDE WITH COULTER MOTORSPORTS
2012 season set to kick off Saturday at Dillon Motor Speedway
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (March 5, 2012) - Craig Goess will drive for Coulter Motorsports full time in the PASS South Super Late Model Series in 2012 beginning with Saturday's season opener at Dillon Motor Speedway - the South Carolina Clash 150.
Goess will be behind the wheel of Coulter Motorsports' No. 81 car sponsored by Greenville Toyota under the direction of veteran crew chief Randy Renfrow. Renfrow, a former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, previously served as spotter and coach for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of the Year Joey Coulter.
Goess, a Woodbury, N.J. native, comes to Coulter Motorsports with a plethora of experience in multiple major racing series. He got his start at just 10 years old racing four wheelers locally and then served 10 years with INEX-sanctioned Legends racing, in which he earned three national championships. His resume now features NASCAR Camping World Truck, ARCA and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East competition, and Goess has scored top-10 finishes in all three series. In 2010 Goess finished runner-up in the ARCA Racing Series championship standings, just 20 points behind Patrick Sheltra, after earning 10 top fives - including a win at Pocono Raceway - and 15 top 10s.
I am really looking forward to racing with Coulter Motorsports and working with Randy Renfrow this season, commented Goess. Coulter Motorsports is a well established team with a proven track-record and Randy (Renfrow) has a wealth of knowledge. I look forward to learning from him all season and contending for the win each week.
The No. 81 team is one of two PASS South Super Late Model Series entries for Coulter Motorsports in 2012, as Gray Gaulding also will be competing full time in the No. 2 Krispy Kreme car.
Coulter Motorsports is pleased to welcome Craig Goess to our racing family for 2012, said Joe Coulter, Coulter Motorsports owner. He has an extremely storied and diversified racing background that will not only help him, but our entire team excel and hopefully earn a trip to victory lane this season.
The South Carolina Clash 150 gets underway at 5 p.m. ET Saturday at Dillon Motor Speedway - a 4/10-mile asphalt oval with 14-degree banking. The event is the first of 16 races on the 2012 PASS South Super Late Model Series schedule.
