From Buddy Mewbourne. Hello everybody. Wanted - Illustrated Speedway News copy. Does a member still have old copies of Illustrated Speedway News. Looking for the February 17, 1962 issue of the Daytona Modified Sportsman race on Saturday before Fireball won the 500 on Sunday the 18th. The issue I need may have come out Feb. 18th, but the modified race was the 17th. In that issue was a photo of a 1957 Chevrolet race car (number 80.) It may have been on front page. The car lost its left front wheel at the end of the race. With the undercarriage on the track the car was spewing a tremendous trail of sparks maybe 50 or 75 feet behind. That was my car, Sonny Black was the driver. If you have this issue, I will pay to have it. Or if you can scan or copy the photo I will pay for that too.

I lost my photograph in a recent move. Illustrated Speedway News has archives, but only for 1964 and 1965. I would contact the photographer if I knew his name and e-mail.
