A belated tip of the hat to Ferrum, Virginia's Morris Stephenson - Virginia newspaperman and racing publicist who passd in October 2017 at age 81. In addition to newspaper reporting duties, Morris was the first PR director at Pulaski County Speedway (later renamed New River Valley and Motor Mile) before helping the Satch Worley family at Log Cabin Raceway and later running the show at Lonesome Pine Speedway in Franklin County. Along with Dick Thompson, Morris co-authored the official history of Martinsville Speedway. Details at the link below:
