A technical question that was asked today at shop

Trivia

Allowing for .090 for intake valve and .100 exhaust valve to piston clearance theoretically you could use .528 lift cam as long as stock 1.5 ratio rocker arms are used and stock cam timing without having to make valve reliefs in the piston.

You Mighta been at a Goat Rodeo

General

Goat Rodeo?...How did you know we are having the 1st Annual South Congaree Goat Rodeo this weekend.I need someone to help our UN-official Mayor Wayne Wilson with the judging.Tim are you available to take on this task? And see if that Banks guys who wears the jungle tights can make it.We will have goat roping, bucking Goats (you may only use the horns to hold on) and my favorite catch the greasy goat contests.Devin I could use your assistance with crowd control.Beside the rodeo we will be allowing folks to watch our amazing swimming goats in the pool. And just to think all this for $10 which all proceeds will be donated to the Drive to allow Jeff to Drive Fund.Hope to see everyone here at Scooter Studios Saturday.

You are correct. This was sent to me by a friend but when I quizzed him he researched it and now stands corrected. Thanks for the catch.

Roush suffers minor injuries in crash

General

NASCAR team owner Jack Roush suffered minor cuts on his head in a plane crash Tuesday evening at Whitman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisc.

Roush was flying his private jet, a Beechcraft Premier 1A from Detroit. The jet made hard contact on landing and cracked the fuselage.

Brenda Strickland, a friend of Roush's, also was on board the plane. NASCAR journalist Bob Margolis, who is writing a book about Roush's life, was told that Roush and Strickland were not seriously hurt.

"Jack got out and had blood some blood on his face," Margolis said. "Apparently he bumped his head. They both were taken to a local hospital for observation, but I've been told they are OK."

Roush, an experienced pilot, suffered serious injuries in a plane crash near Talladega, Ala., in 2002. He was flying his P-51 aircraft when it crashed into a lake. Roush was unconscious and would have drowned, but he was pulled from the water by Larry Hicks, a retired marine who lived nearby and saw the crash.

Roush was in Oshkosh for EAA AirVenture, an annual air show.
