And now I know the location of the longest bar at the NY World's Fair!
And now I know the location of the longest bar at the NY World's Fair!
Speaking of World's Fair beer, I was at the 1964 NY World's Fair, but my parents took us to the Coke Pavilion rather than the outstanding attraction at the link below, replete with description & photos:

Wonder if any of the Ring members made it?
Now you've got me wondering if they stock any of the stuff below over at that Georgia racing palace in Dawsonville where Cody hangs out?!
Thanks, Chase. That was a special day in the history of NASCAR's elite division.
So, it was rain that caused the field to be set by points. Thanks, Chase.
Clips below are from the Spartanburg and Sarasota papers of July 18, 1965.
Also a note from the July 15, 1965 edition of the St. Petersburg paper noting Panch's win at Islip preceding Watkins Glen.
I note that one of my early heroes, J.T. Putney, didn't start his customary #19 Chevy, but rather the #20 Ford of Christiansburg, Virginia's Clyde Lynn. Interestingly, Clyde's fellow racer from Christiansburg, Jabe Thomas of the #25 Star City Body Shop Special, was absent.
I think in an emergency, there are a couple of motels between Shallotte and Myrtle Beach:
You are very observant, Cody. If they had internet service in Shallotte, Bopper's friend, Rev. Stagger would have an on-line Revival where you could send cards, letters and cash!
I don't think they have e-mail service in Shallotte.
