Imagine threatening Junior Johnson in his priome with a sledgehammer!
Thanks for painting that picture, Tim.
Dennis Andrews will be pleased to see that the AP racing roundup posted by Chase includes a Saturday night win by Bobby Webb at Rockingham Speedway!
I recognize Wade Thornburg third from left. I believe that's Steve Hmiel to the left of Wade, wearing the chambray work shirt? Should I be looking for a Biscoe? That's not Richie Bartz with the beard on the right, is it?
President Obama today nominated current Charlotte, NC Mayor, Anthony Foxx to be the next United States Secretary of Transportation - pending Senate confirmation.
What are the odds the new Transportation Secretary to Be has already received a phone call from Charlotte Motor Speedway's Bruton Smith or Winston Kelley at Charlotte's NASCAR Hall of Fame with some sort of "transportation" scheme?
Charlotte Mayor, Anthony Foxx (L) at today's White House Announcement
My studied opinion is that Bruton would have a tough time finding a better chauffeur than the last Secretary of Transportation from North Carolina , Elizabeth Dole (back seat) had at Charlotte.
Fortunate fans.
Awkward place for the car... between the double-tiered ARMCO steel guardrail and what I "assume" is the original stadium concrete wall.
It was revealed recently that our 43rd President, George W. Bush has a penchant for painting and has been turing out one canvas after another.
I noted when Bush was interviewed on ABC News by Diane Sawyer that he signs all of his paintings "43."
In this painting of the late White House dog, Barney Bush, would you say the color of the President's #43 signature resembles any other color you might think of?
BTW, a lot of folks remember the Wood Brothers making quite a name for themselves when they pitted the winning rear engined #82 Colin Chapman Lotus powered by Ford and driven by Scotsman, Jim Clark in the 1965 Indianapolis 500.
The Woods also pitted the team Lotus #83 that day (which many folks claim was detuned) driven by Bobby Johns to a 7th place finish.
