Johnny, I remember years ago seeing a bumper in the Joe Weatherly Stock Car Museum at Darlington from Junior Johnson's car that failed that darned magnet test!
WOW!
Was there a specific reason for taking the engine to NASCAR R&D and pulling it down or was this a random check?
What we always siad at Darlington, where the Dixie Cup plant was located, was : "Save Your Dixie Cups, the south is gonna rise again!"
Yes, Tim... from China Grove, NC, who so nicely offer coffeee to all of us at the various events. Ray Lamm posted this photo of Robin & Patsy (on the right) with Jimmy Johnson eating some 'cue at the October Bud Moore meet & greet at Victory Lane Museum.
Sending well wishes to Robin and family. Get well quickly, Robin!
Thanks, Chase. As you point out, Lee seemed to be involved in his share of controversial finishes.
Thanks, Tim. 1960 was not a good year for asphalt. I envy you having seen the first CMS race. I bet the setiing for the Asheville-Weaverville track must have been spectacular.
I think GoGirl voted for him, too. Believe she was spotted giving him the #1 salute at Kansas!
