September 25 - This day in Petty history 9/25/49 - Lee finishes 2nd to Red Byron in a 200 lapper at Martinsville. This was NASCAR's first season with the Strictly Stock series (later renamed Grand National Series).9/25/60 - Jim Paschal finishes 4th in the #44 Petty Plymouth in the Old Dominion 500 at Martinsville. Richard finishes 22nd, and Lee finishes 23rd.9/25/77 - Richard qualifies 4th and finishes 4th in the Old Dominion 500 at Martinsville.9/25/83 - Richard finishes 9th and Kyle finishes 12th in the Goody's 500 at Martinsville.
