1973 National 500 at Charlotte. Glotzbach in the
#28 crashes with David Pearson between turns 3 and 4. Petty drove between the spinning cars and Bobby Allison spun to avoid Glotzbach as he came to rest at the bottom of the track. This was my first NASCAR race. Cale won in the Kar-Kare
#11 Chevy. I remember it like it was yesterday.
I was at that race also.
Where did you sit? I was on the back stretch on the end closest to the 3rd turn. My family sat there for years. We got to the track at 6:00 am and sat till the ticket booth opened a little after 8:00 am. We bought our ticket and raced up the steps to get to thoses seats before anyone else.
I sat coming out of turn 4 had a great view of this wreck.
