Was the week before christmas and all through the land
every one is waiting to hear the big band
the Legend is going to make a record and he is singing
of the beautiful music that christmas bells keep ringing
and the ballground lady of wit will hear the music so dear
that even the guy up north called pete will say thats clear!!
because he's snowed in up in michigan and he had a fear
that the songs would not make it to him
but never fear race fans the man on the controls
has enough power to say the lights wont even dim
he can make a six run on coors and not skip a beat
even ole bobby was worried that his re-enactments
you can only imagine the pure joy of excitements
that even the great Cody would loudly cheer the drum roll
that miss Columbia Speedway does when she hears
the song she waits for each week on the Zeus radio show
and Coastal Jack will look for another track in the snow
that some say will be a ghost again for sure
unless the BB cannon can blow a hole in it to hook a lure
then Leon will drag it to its destination with his truck
the craft work of the reunion group will revive it as vintage
Then Dave can recreate one of his great rides that look
like yesterdays cars reborn to race and win for heritage
so if the beach bums can put the show on the air or in a book
then maybe Santa can find the place thats fit for a prince
and Eli will say is my name on the page
