Not sure of the name, this ghost track is in Chester county, SC between the communities of Lando and Richburg. Looks to be about a 3/8 miler. Anyone remember this one?

Wonder if Harrison Ford will be available for the film production?

"Indiana Bopper" and Cape Fear Uncover the Ghost Track

* Film opens with a cloud of dust still evident from Jim and Bobby's recent dirt road excursion to the ghost track site.

* Shift to closeup of Jim and Bopper wielding machetes to clear the overgrowth blocking the entrance to this former dirt venue.

* Audience anticipates camera shift to an old entrance sign that will reveal the name of this long lost track.

Dave, we've been known to cross a few fences in search of the temple of the lost clay oval This gem was found at Hemmingway Speedway in Marion County, SC if my memory serves me correct.

It was called Suicide Circle. I believe, if I am not wrong that Hugh Gray Earnandez ran it. We lost him not long ago. Lots of guys who are still around can fill you in on it. Ervin Carpenter, Jake Jacobs, Eddie Morgan etc. I can hook you up with them. Somewhere...in my stuff I have a few minutes of video on it. I do have some newpaper articles from the early sixties on it. My 3-B Chevrolet ran there lots of times. I bought it from the Faulkenberry family in 1990. It would still run and was driven by Don AArants, Eddie Morgan, Ervin Carpenter, Jerry Boyce,Harry Marlowe and Cecil Nivens.

PKL, I scour the auto racing records site often, and had tried to identify the "Lando" mystery, but hadn't yet made the connection. It's rare when somebody, somewhere, on Racers Reunion can't fill in some of the blanks! I'm confident "Suicide Circle" is the track in question.

Road trip may be necessary.......according to legend, some of the race cars of Suicide Circle were abandoned, left at the track.......and are still (possibly) there!
