Jul 17, 2012
ROCKINGHAM, NC (WBTV) -
Racing Legend Junior Johnson will sell his Cattle Farm and Custom Built Home situated on 150 acres in Yadkin County, on August 7.
In a separate auction, Johnson will sell his farm equipment and memorabilia at public auction on July 31.
Junior and his family have purchased a new home in Charlotte and have chosen the firm of IRON HORSE AUCTION COMPANY, INC., of Rockingham, to conduct these important auction events.
A member of the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Junior is recognized as one of the drivers and owners who have made the sport what it is today.
As an entrepreneur he continues to be active in business with his own signature "white lighting" being distilled in Madison, NC under the name of Junior Johnson's Midnight Moon.
His auctions will feature his farm equipment used to maintain the beautiful 150 acre cattle farm, many special memorabilia items and also, the scenic Hamptonville Estate.
The Hamptonville Estate includes the magnificent, hilltop home that was custom built for Junior and his wife, Lisa; along with Juniors office, race shop, the famous breakfast building, hay barns, equipment buildings and a separate guest house.
The equipment, memorabilia and home furnishings will be sold on July 31 starting at 9 a.m.
The auction will be conducted on site under the big tent with live Internet bidding available for those not able to attend in person.
The real estate will be offered on August 7 at 11 A.M., on site.
A catalog purchase of 25.00 is required to attend either inspection or auction, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Ryan Newman Foundation.
The catalog will allow two persons to attend both auctions and the preview prior to the auction.
The Previews for the Real Estate and the Equipment are listed at ironhorseauction.com
Thomas McInnis of Iron Horse says:
"This is a true once in a lifetime auction for one of stock car racings living legends. Junior and Lisa built their dream home on one the areas most scenic properties, which they have enjoyed for many years. It was only after their decision to downsize did the property become available for sale. We are greatly honored to be assisting Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and their children on this important matter."
"Our family leaves behind many great memories and times here in Hamptonville," states Junior, "we wish the new owners nothing but the best in this extraordinary estate."
Johnson family spokesman Keith Barnwell says, "This is a great opportunity for Juniors fans and friends to own a piece of his history with the July 31st auction date. Someone will be fortunate to acquire his beautiful estate just a week later. This farm is incredible and we are looking forward to seeing it continue to thrive in the future"
