Today's Fort Worth Star-Telegram features several photos of Danica Patrick sporting a BIG new, jewel encrusted belt buckle.

I used to think I had a big belt buckle when I worked for Wrangler, but Danica has me beat by a mile, lol!

Now here's mine below. She's definitely got me beat, doesn't she? How about the rest of you? Anybody got a buckle bigger than Danica's?

An oversized belt buckle ... with tennis shoes. Yep, a regular cowpoke she is. *spit*

Fellow RR member (but who rarely posts), Brian 200WINZ Hauck is the proud owner of a limited edition Richard Petty belt buckle. The King had them made following his 7th championship in 1979, and he gave them to a few selective individuals. Turns out Brian ended up with one of them.

Yep, Pk, my buckle was the idea of our Wrangler Rodeo Program guys and it was made as a surprise for me and presented at the 1981 Winston 500 at Talladega. Manufactured by GIST Silversmiths in Placerville, California. Sierra Silver, hand-engraved.

It was a pain in the airports. Had to take it off to get through metal detectors.

Cody, it was the 1982 Warner W Hodgdon 500 at Rockingham and Cale had won the pole in the MC Anderson Valvoline Buick ride. The pre-race show had gotten all mixed up and track General Manager Frank Wilson asked me if I'd interview Cale and give him the Rockingham Pole Trophy and also deliver the invocation before the start of the race. You can see Ned Jarrett at the bottom left of the photo who'd give Cale the Busch Beer Pole Award plaque after I gave him the track trophy for Rockingham.

The young lady at the right rear of the photo behind my elbow used to date Mark Martin and represent Mountain Dew and Pepsi. Back in those days they held hands everywhere they went.

By the way... you didn't ask, but those are armadillos on my belt. Don't ask why. Needed a western belt in a hurry!

Why don't you write a book on your experiences??? It would certainly keep me occupied!

Dave, when you put a small block into a small frame it looks big, right? Now when you hang that buckle on her it dont have to be big to look big on little bit..

Dave, that is an awesome buckle you have. I like that. As for Danica, well, for her to have a buckle like that is somewhat ludicrous. Maybe she plans to use it on Landon Cassill

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.
