A strong rumor is that Happy Harvick is entertaining the idea of being under the same umbrella with Ryan,Danica and Tony.

He is to leave RCR next seasons end and be one of the S/H boys.. Now thats something to think about especially since Tony gets along with Kevins real boss so good .

Stewart would not comment Friday on the report by ESPN.com, which said Harvick has signed a multi-year agreement to drive for Stewart-Haas Racing when his contract expires after next season. Asked about the report at Phoenix International Raceway, Stewart said he doesn't discuss business until he's got something official to announce.

I think it's too soon for SHR to run four cars. I don't think three cars is a good idea either, but Danica brings so much money that she can't be ignored. On the other hand, she has so little experience that she wouldn't be useful as a teammate on a two car team. She was clueless about set-ups in Indycar.I like Ryan, although he hasn't been very successful lately. I'd be disappointed if he got the boot. He seems more level-headed and better able to deal with Tony on a bad day as well. I don't like Happy, but I don't have to work with him so it's irrelevant. I had expected Jeff Burton would be the one leaving when Austin moved up but I guess he's willing to be a mentor and Kevin isn't.If SHR does go to four cars, it's about time they built an engine shop.

No real surprise to me about this rumor. Its been gossiped about for some time - and the pairing makes sense. I suggested over a month ago KH would join SHR. No announcement yet of course, but logically its the next destination for Harvick.

I'm glad that they stepped in when they did and put a limit on how many cars a team could run. Yeah, I think it would effectively be eight cars for Hendrick but if Roush or Gibbs was that strong then they'd be doing it too. Unlike some conspiracy theorists I read on the web, I don't think that Hendricks is getting any special breaks. It's possible that they occasionally look the other way when Junior's car goes through the tech line at the speedways, but otherwise, no special treatment.

Doesn't mean that I like it though. I'd like to see the limit dropped to two cars. I have no real problems with only one engine builder for each manufacturer but tend to think that it levels the competition to where we have packs of cars with the same horsepower. Double that when the chassis comes from the same source as the engine.

Maybe Newman can go back to running for Penske. A championship this year might open the pocketbooks enough to allow for a three car team over there. Newman can hold Ryan Blaney's seat for him.

I personally will be very interested to see what Ryan has to say about all this. IF Tony would decide to break ALL ties with Ryan, then I have so overestimated his intelligence! I would hope maybe this is a decision that Ryan and Krissie have made where as he could quite possibly become more involved in the engineering aspect. He is after all, now a Father and just maybe thinking about moving into a safer, yet still very productive mode. Who knows? Ryan is a VERY intelligent man....and I honestly would HATE to think that Smoke would do that to him. There has to be a logical explanation for this....

Information from today's newspaper report here is that SHR WILL be a FOUR car team in 2014, with Smoke, Newman, Harvick and Patrick. Further, RCR has stated that Austin Dillon will run the 2013 Daytona 500 driving number 33. While I don't always buy what the newspaper is selling, seems sources in this one are pretty good. Several verbatim quotes from Tony Stewart.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

I can definitely see Harvick migrating to Stewart-Haas with the handwriting now on the wall and confirmed by RCR's 2013 Daytona 500 plans that the Childress team will become grandsons oriented.

I'm not at all confident that Ryan Newman will survive past 2013 at Stewart-Haas unless he posts some spectacular results in 2013. Don't forget that Stewart-Haas announced just this past September ONLY a 1-year extension of Ryan's contract.

As I read it in USA Today, the 4-car team quotes for Stewart-Haas aren't coming from Tony, but from a Stewart-Haas employee named Mike Arning. Here are excerpts of what I read:

Nate Ryan, USA TODAY

Harvick says he's 'focused on finishing this season on a strong note,' won't talk about 2014 plans

7:55PM EST November 9. 2012 - AVONDALE, Ariz. -- Tony Stewart didn't confirm or deny an ESPN.com report that Stewart-Haas Racing has signed Kevin Harvick to join the Sprint Cup team in 2014.

Stewart told reporters that his team had no information to release Friday after practice at Phoenix International Raceway.

"When we have something to tell you guys, we'll tell you," the defending series champion said. "I've always said that, so you guys can throw darts, and when we've got something to tell you that's different than what we've got going on, we'll obviously tell you."

Childress confirmed grandson Austin Dillon would enter the 2013 Daytona 500 and run a handful of Cup races before entering the series full-time in 2014.

In a statement, Stewart-Haas Racing spokesman Mike Arning said the team's three-car lineup was set for 2013 with Stewart, Ryan Newman and Danica Patrick, but there still are designs on expanding to a fourth car.

"If you're talking about 2014, and if Kevin Harvick is available, that's something the team would have to look at," Arning said. "Any team in this garage would do the same.

"From the moment Stewart-Haas Racing was formed, becoming a four-car team is something it's been striving for. They have the infrastructure to accommodate a fourth team, and if everything aligns properly, it's something they'll do. So, if a driver the caliber of Kevin Harvick is available, it's something they would pursue.

Not only this, but several of 'my' sources have confirmed the long-time rumor of Tony buying Lanier Speedway. I have not been down in a while, but I have also heard it was just negotiations....still, I've heard more 'Yah's" than "Nah's" Sources have also said that Nascar itself, not Big Bruton, has bought the Road Atlanta track right across the street.

I thought it was firmly established the NASCAR bought Road Atlanta in a package with the ALMS series. They were both owned by Panoz. Where did the rumor get started that Bruton bought it?

I'm hoping that they leave stewardship of Road Atlanta to Jim France. IMO, he's the most rational in that family. The track has been neutered enough in the past decade and I don't want ISC to muck it up further. NASCAR has said in the past that the track isn't suitable for cup. (I'm not sure why, I've run against stock cars there in Vintage races) If that's their attitude, I don't want it remodeled to allow for them.

I think it's good that Tony is putting his money back into the sport, but four cars and another track sounds like he's putting a lot on his plate at once. Looking at his physique, I guess he does that a lot.

I hope it works out for him. People have been complaining here about pampered drivers but I'm certain that Tony could have competed against AJ Foyt, David Pearson and anyone else from the Sixties.

I'm sure that in the Sixties, all the racers from the Thirties complained about how spoiled the modern drivers were; what with their windshields, eight inch wide tires, roll bars and everything.
