Did we ever decide whether it is proper ettiquette to leave your helmet on when you go after somebody at the track?

This is from Selingsgrove:

Very polite of that one driver to give the other his helmet back!

How about the rasslin that was displayed for Ronald Regan in 1979 at the daytona race--you remember when cale was whipping bobby with his face, at least thats what bobby said.. one helmet on and one off so it was a win-win or maybe a no-win situation

That Sellinsgrove fight was pretty...uuuhh, cool! I don't think I would want to fight with a full face for one - you can't see down or the sides. LOGIC!

What an idiot. He wasnt going to finish any higher than 3rd. It looked like to me that the Camaro held his line and the 87 only cleared him by half a car and then cut down on him. But by far the biggest chicken coward was the sissy dork in the white hat and shoes that kicked the guy while he was down and then jumped to the outside of the circle.

I felt sorry for that "official" at Selinsgrove....LOL Looks like they hired the scrawniest fellow in town. He just kept backing up and waving that stick with a rag...on it...LOL!!!

Well...I probably am going to prove who my Daddy was for sure at this point. Personally, I would take the helmet off and go for it...if I have time. Otherwise that helmet is going to be used as a weapon. But.DANG...he ran that car right on top of him, didn't he?? Ain't nothing wrong with a good clean fight....just the way I was raised. Aggressive driving...is going to bring it out...no two ways about it....it's the nature of the beast....

Rookies remove their helmets before fighting. At least that was the feeling in East Tennessee. You always knew if the guy had been in a racetrack fight by whether he kept it on or took it off. Many have wished they left it on...leaving the track with tire iron and jack handle gashes on their noggins.

One thing that has been a constant in racetrack fights...there are usually others who join in at the most inopportune times...often from behind...or like the guy kicking in the first one.
