WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS IDEA?

Just curious.

Being that it is a very windy and rainy dayhere in Legend Land, I'm housebound and reading. One of my always faithful resources for reading pleasure is going back into the volumes written by Greg Fielden, "Forty Years of Stock Car Racings" and "Rumbling Ragtops". Somehow I missed getting my hands on "High Speed at Low Tide". As I was reading today, I noticed that almost every date, every day of the year from mid March through late October, could correspond with a race somewhere. In addition to that, I have a couple years worth of old issues of Southern Motorsports Journal. I was wondering if there is any interest in my trying to take an event for each date and writing a short Forum Post about that particular Day in History? Have to give Chase credit for his "Day in Petty History" which I thoroughly enjoy.

Just giving it some thought. Not sure I could do it, but may be interesting. Comments, anyone?

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

That's a crazy idea...

...but I love it.

I've thoroughly enjoyed learning as I've researched my Petty-themed posts. Fielden's books, YouTube, photos here and at Randy Ayers Modeling Forum, Perry Allen Wood's books, scanned articles sent to me from SMR, SMJ, SCR mag, etc. have all been fantastic sources to pull together a fun story about a series of races.

So as I say, your idea is a bit nuts...

... but go. Green, green, green!

Thanks, everyone! Chase, thanks for the support????? I'm not talented enough to pull pictures to put with my stories but I will do what I can. At least you didn't end with "boogity, boogity, boogity".

Not sure how I will title the series but I'm already working on one for April 5th. Will be from the 1953 season. Just think, 60 years ago!
